Over the course of a six hour day, students will paint from a live nude model twice (morning & afternoon sessions). The course focuses on color mixing (skin tones), basic anatomy, and overall composition. Some painting experience is preferred.
Materials needed for Figure Painting:
*Oil Paints- suggested
Titanium White (120 ml large tube),
37ml small tubes of :
Lemon Yellow,
Cadmium Yellow,
Cadmium Red,
Alizarin Crimson,
Cerulean Blue,
Ultramarine Blue,
*Palette (disposable or wooden) min size 11” x 14”
*Palette knife
*Assortment of Brushes (Rounds, Flats, Filberts) #6, #8, #10
* 1 small container with cover for medium (50% Gamsol + 50% Linseed Oil)
1 small container with cover for Gamsol (solvent)
(you can also choose to work with only walnut oil if you’d like to avoid solvents)
*2 pre-stretched Canvases or prepared boards –min size 13” x 17” -max 18″ x 24″
*2 sticks of vine or willow charcoal
