 A rigorous and immersive intellectual experience designed to introduce the first-year student to college-level inquiry and university culture. This seminar-size course emphasizes close reading, critical analysis, information literacy, research skills, and oral communication. Course sections will vary in emphasis, assignments, and activities but will incorporate one or more common texts, along with shared learning outcomes. Students are introduced to a range of disciplines, fields, and/or bodies of knowledge as a means of skills building and as a site for investigation and inquiry; they participate in a range of scholarly activities, including but not limited to analysis, critical writing, primary and secondary research, field experiences, and oral presentations.

This online class uses the ZOOM platform.
