This foundational class focuses on expanding and honing students’ digital content-creation, design, and art-making skills, through exploration of a wide range of software, concepts, and techniques. Topics include digital compositing, vector design, time-based media best practices, and thoughtful use of AI tools. In addition to technical demos, presentations, and discussions, the class views examples of contemporary artists and designers who employ digital practices and new technologies in their work. While expanding their creative toolkits, students continue to sharpen their workflow skills and adopt best practices. Instruction is individualized and based on students’ specific needs and goals.
