Learn the principles and techniques of video editing – the backbone of filmmaking and video art. Whatever your interest or desired role in time-based media, understanding editing is fundamental to your success. The editor is a detail-oriented storyteller, craftsperson, organizer, and technician. We often rediscover and sometimes reinvent our stories in the edit. Through demonstrations and hands-on exercises, students learn the post-production process, storytelling, and editing techniques. We will weave and layer moving images and sounds with Adobe Premiere and use the three-point editing method to construct scenes and stories from rough cut to completion.

Equipment Requirements: Free access to Adobe Premiere editing software is provided with enrollment.
Students must have a computer that meets the minimum specifications required by Adobe Premiere Pro
2020. Footage will be provided for the editing exercises or students can work with their own material.

This online class meets in ZOOM.
