This online course features the following types of interaction:

This course offers a comprehensive introduction to interior design and the essential design principles related to shaping the built environment. Students will engage in developing a design proposal tailored to a specific design brief, as well as completing weekly assignments that guide the design process. Each week will feature a short lecture on relevant design topics, such as principles of space organization, considerations of natural and artificial light, and narrative storytelling through design. Additionally, the course will introduce universal design, custom detailing, and the selection of appropriate materials for projects. Students will receive ongoing critiques of their work as they progress through their designs and participate in a final review with guest critics. No prior design knowledge or skills are necessary as they will be taught as part of the course. While prior experience in presenting images via Zoom or Google Meet is preferred, instruction will be provided for students needing assistance with the technology.
This online class uses ZOOM.
No class November 27th, Thanksgiving week break.
This class will apply to the Interior Design Certificate Program, which begins in Spring 2025.
